HERE WE GO – AGAIN!!!

VOTE NO!

NO! TO BYLAWS AMENDMENTS MAKING VIDEOGRAPHERS FULL-FLEDGED VOTING MEMBERS.  NO! TO ADDING VOICEWRITERS INTO OUR FOLD.  NO! TO MAKING THEM FULL-FLEDGED VOTING MEMBERS.

After almost innumerable negative votes on these two issues, the Board of Directors STILL has not gotten the message that membership does not want videographers and voicewriters determining the future of stenographers.

How is it that the Board just can’t get it through their heads that what stenographic shorthand reporters want is an association dedicated to the profession of stenographic shorthand reporting.  We want the focus on US! FULL STOP.

And it goes without saying – or it should go without saying – that the only people with a vote in that association should remain stenographic reporters.  FULL STOP.

Do you remember the old song that we sang with our kids: “One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn’t belong.”

Stenographic reporters are different and we should not be lumped together with videographers and voicewriters.  WE have hard-earned skills.  And all of us at WUNCRA are sorry to say this, but people who depress one button and then run audio through AI to produce “something” – those people have no meaningful skills – they could never deal with 23 keys. And they don’t belong in the same association as equals with some of the most truly skilled people on the planet – stenographic shorthand reporters.  FULL STOP.

                                                  WAKE UP, NCRA!
                                                  FRANK N. SENSE

P.S.  Please send this to every stenographer that you know so that they know to vote NO! on the upcoming bylaws amendments.

P.P.S. Please sign up to receive these WUNCRA posts.  We DO NOT share emails or any information with anyone – EVER.

P.P.P.S. We are wading through a backlog of comments and will dive deeper into concerns that have been raised, as time permits.  But for now, it’s important to get the VOTE NO! message out.
